China is one of the biggest country in the world, and its size not just for display. It's also blessed with incredible amount of minerals and rare ores, one of which is gold.

The world is now seeing an increase in gold demand, both from plain consumers and entities looking to stock up their reserves of gold as a safety measure against the fragile world economy. China used to be at the tail of the gold mining industry. But now, they can very well place themselves in the top 3 producers of gold. As a matter of fact, in a recent survey, China is now the largest supplier of gold bullion, toppling from the top spot South Africa and Australia.

China's approach of developing smaller mines worked really fine for them, as they were able to utilize their large land and large population. Most of China's mined gold stay inside their country, but a good portion are sold internationally, in the form of gold bars and jewelries.

China is also named one of the producers of world class gold, that is, gold which has a purity of 99 percent and above. China's average gold production is in the level of 99.99, in the gold investor's circle, it is called the Four Nines Pure Gold. They were also able to mine the much desired gold with 99.999 purity, which is called the High Pure Gold or Five Nines. The High Pure Gold are in demand in high-industry especially in the aerospace sector.
